Weekend Trips!

I want to document your first weekend trips out of town! I put the photos in here backwards, so we'll talk about Buhler first and then Iola.

Your first trip to Buhler was March 18-20! You did pretty good most of the way to Buhler. We stopped in Emporia, and you didn't like that. But once on the road again you fell back asleep. But then you woke up when we were about an hour from Buhler-and you were hungry, hungry, hungry. SO, I fed you and you were happy again. Here are a few highlights from our trip:

You got to see Papa again! You hadn't seen him since you were in the hospital!
You met Grandpa-Great, Virgil Regehr. He was very excited to meet you!

You also met Grandma-Great, Marie Regehr, who you are named after!

Bekkah and you in your pretty pink church dresses!

You cheered on the Jayhawks!! You also met many Buhler Friends!

We went to the park! Bekkah was helping you "drive" the fire engine. You also, went on the swings with mommy, and laid on the slide.

Then we laid in the back yard and played bubbles with Bekkah.

It was a great first trip to Buhler, and we look forward to many more!!

Your first trip to Iola was March 11-13. You did a fabulous job in the car, you didn't wake up once! Here are some highlights from our Iola trip:

You met Great-Grandma Sam! You were both in your pretty purples!

Your cousin Cindy and Great-Aunt Rhonda got you many great things! They SPOILED you for sure! Here your daddy and I are opening a piggy bank in memory of your Great-Grandma Bonnie!

Great-Grandpa Jimmie was there too! Here is your first 4-generation picture!

You met your cousin Cindy and Jimmy! They love you! You're the little girl they get to spoil! :)

You also wore your very first dress!!!
Again, we had a great weekend in Iola! We look forward to taking you there many times in the future! :)
Little Girl, you are so lucky to have a fabulous Mimi and Papa, and Grandma and Grandpa! You are loved everywhere you go and will always be supported by your fabulous family!
Love you Princess!

One Month!!

Wow! You are one month old!! I just can't believe how fast it went by, it feels like just yesterday I was pregnant and walking miles to get you to come out!! And now you're a month old, and I must say it has been a great month!

Here are some things about you:

You are still wearing newborn clothes, though you have outgrown some.

A week and a half ago you were 9 pounds, 8 ounces. You weigh more than that now, I can tell.

You are in size 1 diapers.

When you were wearing newborn diapers you had a poop blow out at least once a day. Now it's just once every so often!

You cry in your sleep. You'll cry, so I'll come to see what's wrong and you're still passed out!

You enjoy playing on your jungle-gym mat, for a little while every day. But if we play too long you get fussy.

You eat every 2 1/2 hours or so.

You really don't spit up too much on a normal basis.

We think you do not like chicken, when I eat chicken you seem to spit-up more. For example, the other night you projectile vomited all over me when I had chicken for lunch!

Reasons you cry:
1. You have a wet or poopy diaper. You do not like to be wet or poopy for very long, so we change diapers often!!
2. You're hungry.
3. You're sleepy.
4. You're just fussy - which doesn't happen very often - it's usually one of the first 3.

You are sleeping very well at night. You sleep in your bassinet for 3 -4 hours at a time.

You typically go down for night at 11:00 - despite my efforts to get you down at 8!

You are typically up for the day at 7:00.

You hold your head up pretty good for about a minute.

You just started pushing up off of us with your legs.

You just realized you can grab things without us putting it in your hand. So you'll grab your blanket, my hair, my necklace, etc. (Luckily you haven't really learned to pull yet)

We have seen you smile! You've been "smiling" since week 2. But just this past weekend you smiled often from our voices!!

You like to rock to be put to sleep or bounce.

Your best friend is the single light bulb in the living room. It always gets you quiet.

You will sit in your swing for only a little while...but you're not totally convinced about it yet!

You travel pretty well. As long as the car is moving you're quiet - you cry at stop lights!

You enjoy the outside when it's not sunny!

You have found your voice! I love when you say "goo" to me! That is the only "word" you are saying right now!

My favorite face that you do is when you pucker your lips in a tight oval! :)

Two Weeks Already!

Wow Little Girl! You are two weeks old already! Here are some highlights from your first two weeks at home. There are a lot of pictures right now because everything we do is new!! I'm sure I'll slowly cut back on all the photos! :) The second night we were home the Lady Braves played Southwestern in the KCAC tournament. We had to stay home, so we listened to the game on the computer. You listened the entire time, almost! You just sat in Daddy's arms and cheered them on! Unfortunately they lost, so you'll have to wait until next season to see them play!

Being born so close to March you get to jump right into March Madness!! This was technically your second KU game - KU played the day you were born - we watched it in our hospital room, but you slept through it! You watched a little bit of this one.
Here you are EXACTLY one week old!

The first time we put you in your swing you were about a week old. I felt so bad, like I was neglecting you by putting you in there! :) But I knew you needed to be out of mommy's arms! So, Daddy and I ate dinner while you hung out in your swing! You loved it! You laid there awake the entire time! And this time, your first time, you stayed in there for an HOUR! You have only lasted at most 15 minutes since then! But that first time you sure loved your swing! :)

Cousin Rebekkah and Aunt Jami came to meet you on March 4. They were very excited! Cousin Bekkah called you Baby Ana. She loved holding you!

March 5th you napped in your crib for the first time!! You lasted 20 minutes before you woke up.
Our family at Texas Roadhouse! This was our first all day outing, we went out to eat, to the JBF consignment sale, and to the mall. You did great! You slept most the time we were out!

Our trip out was also your first stroller ride!

After our long day out Mimi rocked her two granddaughters!

And on March 6th you went to church for the first time! You pooped through your outfit, and we missed the sermon because you needed to eat! When we went back you had such loud hiccups it echoed through the sanctuary!!

Then that evening you attended your first Bible study!! You did very good!!

And that same day you were fussier than normal so we took your temperature for the first time. It was normal!! :)

So, there is your first two weeks summed up with photos!! Can't wait to continue to watch you grow!!
Love you!
Mommy

Hospital Stay and all your visitors!

We stayed in the hospital for 3 days, 2 nights. We went in Monday morning and left at around 3:00 pm on Wednesday. This is a picture your daddy took of you at about 38 weeks.

You had MANY, MANY, MANY visitors at the hospital and your first few days home! Everyone couldn't wait to meet you. I tried to take photos of everyone for you - but I know I forgot some! If you were fussy I typically forgot to take a photo! :)

Your Mimi was in the room when you were born! She videotaped the whole delivery so that I could watch it. I don't think you'll get to watch most of it though! ;)

Amy was there too! She took all the great photos of you being born and the visitors immediately after! :)

Aunt Melisa came at about 1:00 and was in the waiting room with your Grandma when you were born! So she got to come see you immediately after you were born!

Your Grandma had a cold, so she wore a mask to help protect you from getting sick!

Your Papa spent all day out in the lobby making friends while waiting for you to be born!
Later that night your Grandpa, Uncle Grant, Uncle Andrew, and Cousin Naomi also came to visit you in the hospital!

After your immediate entourage came to see you, your daddy and the nurse took you to get your first bath! Your daddy said you screamed the entire time!

Your daddy got to change your first diaper! You were not happy for the first three hours of your life. You cried, and cried, and cried! So your daddy and I were tired from our long day and from your crying. You still hate getting your diaper changed most the time and cry throughout it!

Your first morning!! 1 day old! Mommy got to dress you in your first outfit!

Papa and Mimi came back your first morning to visit you! Then they sadly went back home to Buhler.

Your first outfit! We decided you were still our little Valentine, even though you came a week late!

Your favorite pose!! You love to sleep like this - you really like to have your hands by your face!

You are two days old now! Daddy was rocking you while I took a quick nap before we decided to head home!
Mommy and Eliana about to get out of bed and get ready to head home!

Right before we left the hospital Emma came to see you! Earlier on day one her parents came to see you!

Daddy putting you in your carseat for the first time!

Our family of three ready to head to our home!
When we got home you still had many visitors! Jenna and Joe came to visit you the first night we were home!
Devin and Erin came to see you too!

Uncle Grant and Aunt Melisa came up to see you on your first Saturday!

Uncle Andrew came to see you on your first Sunday!

Kaylan came too!

Mimi stayed for Four days after you were born to help Mommy while daddy went back to work!
Great- Grandpa Jimmy and Marge came when you were 8 days old. He came by in the morning, but the night before you had a rough time, so your daddy and I were very tired. So, that morning Grandpa Jimmy was calling your daddy, but he slept right through it. I got a text but chose to not look at it, because I wanted sleep. Then, your daddy and I heard someone knocking on the door - so your dad went to look out the window - and saw it was your Great-Grandpa! We made them wait almost 2 hours to meet you!!
David came to see you too! He taught you many, many lessons! :)
Aunt Jami and Cousin Rebekkah came to see you when you were 11 days old! They were both very excited to meet you and hold you! :)
Grandma came back again, she's reading you a book that she had when she was a kid.
Grandpa likes to rock you to sleep!
You had so many visitors and still more coming! First Baptist Ottawa also made us lots of meals and brought us dinner for two straight weeks! Daddy and I ate great! :)
Love you beautiful girl,
Mommy
