Play dates and Boyfriends

Every Wednesday of June, after summer school, we would go over to the Friend's house! I teach with Catie Friend and we got to experience being pregnant together! She had little Brayden on May 1st, so you guys are just right around 2 months apart! So every Wednesday we would have a play date and you and Brayden would play! While the mommies talked! :)
Okay, really most the time you guys would sleep, cry, or eat! :) But the mommies had fun! And, the last time we went you guys were finally "interacting" and then summer school ended so we haven't gone since. :(

You have other "boyfriends" in your life. You have so many boys being born around you. Lincoln doesn't live in KS but he is 8 months old. I have met Lincoln (you have not yet, but will very very soon!) and he is quite the cutie! Then there's Brayden of course. Then Gehrig was born on May 10, you haven't met him yet. He's a California man! :) Then Miles was born, again, you haven't met him - because he's a Texan! ;) So you have your pick of men there!
Also, at daycare you have two older guys trying to get your attention. Gunner and Rhett! They both blow you kisses when you leave and love to say bye and hi to you! I know once you're a little older you and the two boys will have so much fun together! :)

Your daddy says you won't date for a long, long time!! :) I agree, 16 is when you should have your first real boyfriend. But really, all I want for you is, when the time is right, is to find a great man. Someone who will treat you with dignity, respect, and love. A man that does not yell or get upset easily. No man should ever yell at your or belittle you, no matter what! A man who is not jealous or boastful. A man that is a Christian, and leads his relationship, life, family, and home with Christ first and centered! Eliana, you can have a very happy life with a great man, just don't settle and be picky when picking the best man to marry! And remember your daddy and I will always be here for you to help you in any way you need. Never, ever be concerned about coming to us, we will always support you in any way!

4 months old!!

Oh my goodness!! Can you believe that you are 4 months old!? I can't believe it at all! You are beyond an amazing baby!! We are getting lots of bonding time in right now because of summer! You're growing, learning, and just being amazing!! We went to the doctor on your 4 month birthday. They said you are 14 pounds 11 ounces, which puts you in the 61st percentile. And it means you have gained exactly 6 pounds since you were born!! (well, technically more, because you lost weight down to 8 pounds 1 ounce before we left the hospital). You are also, 25.5 inches long, which again puts you in the 89th percentile!! You are perfect! Dr Nichols even said you were perfect and beautiful! :)

You are in size 2 diapers! Size one was just giving TOO many blow outs!! :) You are wearing size 3 month clothing, but we are slowing working you in to your 3-6 month clothing. Some 3 month is too small, some 3-6 is too big, AND in Carter's brand size 6 month is almost too small!!

You are talking up a storm now! You talk to yourself or anyone that will listen. You talk to the fishies on your swing and the bird on your playmat!!

You're sleeping has been a little off lately. This past week there were days you didn't nap at all, along with nights you didn't sleep at all!! And then yesterday, I couldn't keep you awake at all!! But typically, you wake up at 5:45, then nap at 7:30 on the way to Garnett, then nap around 9:30-11:00. Then again on the way back to Ottawa. Then you take an afternoon nap from like 4 -7 (which is later than I'd like, I'm trying to get you to nap at 2!). The sometimes in the evening you still need a 30 min nap but that tme varies. And then depending on how you napped you go to bed sometime between 8 and 9.
You were sleeping through the night, but now you wake up again at midnight and around 3 to eat. Which is funny, because that's what you used to do when you were a newborn!
I just moved your bassinet out of our room, because you were too long for it. I didn't feel ready to move you to your own room! So I put up the pack-n'-play. Though, I do think you'll move to your bed soon! :( You're growing up so fast!
You are also still eating breastmilk. You have had a total of 10 ounces of formula, for various reasons. But we're still going to breastfeed for a little while longer!

You have discovered your feet! You just love them! You're always grabbing at them!
The doctor said your eyes will probably stay blue! :)
Your new favorite thing is to squeal! You have this high-pitched squeal, where you almost would think you were crying! But nope, you're just talking! :)
Sometimes when you're so excited you flap your arms and you hit yourself or me! Espeically when you're eating you you smack my chest a lot!
You are playing more with your toys. You like having a rattle in your hand or any other toy. Your favorite toy is your stuffed bunny. We take it everywhere, and when you're sleepy or fussy you enjoy holding on to it. Or eating it! Everything you touch goes directly to your mouth!
You love to smile! :) When your daddy does his little noise (where he rolls his tongue) you just light up!!
You are not a fan of lying down anymore. You would rather be propped up, or sitting up to watch everything.
You're still not rolling over, you have rolled over twice, but it was on the bed and I'm not sure it was a flat surface, so I don't count it! You do, however, scoot on your back and belly. You just kick your legs so much you eventually turn or move! So, maybe you won't roll over, maybe you'll just go to crawling! We'll see!
You are a very smiley baby! You finally realized that you can smile when I get the camera out! :)
Litte Girl, you are so amazing! :) We love everyday with you!!

Our recent happenings

I know, I know, I'm sad I haven't blogged in a while too!! Really, this is your I need something please face. You cry/whimper to warn me that you're ready to eat, be changed, sleep, getting bored, and if I respond in a timely manner, or at least tell you I hear you this is as bad as it gets. Now, if I don't respond in a timely manner this face turns bright red and you cry!! But that's healthy for you too! :)
Unfortunately, I think you're starting to teeth. You are DROOLING up a storm, EVERYTHING goes straight to your mouth, and you have been a bit more fussy than usual. You also have a new cry that I call your pain cry. But I can never tell if you're giving it to me for your teeth or your tummy, because you clentch your entire boy when you give me this awful cry, and it is for sure awful!! Typically after 30 min of your "pain cry" it results in you getting tylenol and then you're much better!

So, it's been a while since I've blogged because we have just been enjoying each other! It is summer, but I am teaching summer school - so you still go to Miss Jodi's Monday through Thursday for about 3 hours while I teach. And then we go back home! or to Bud's office because we are in full swing of planning for camp this summer! Hopefully you'll get used to his office soon so that you'll nap while we're there!


Here are some recent highlights: This would be you discovering your pacifier! You now know it's there so you take it out of yor mouth all the time! Then you look at it, try to put it back in your mouth and you chew on it, whichever way you an get it in there! This was exciting at first that you're learning and now can "understand" your pacifier. BUT, you need to learn the correct way to get it back in your mouth. When you are fussy on the way to Garnett, I'll reach back and put your pacifier in your mouth, this calms you for 60 seconds, then you pull it out, play with it, drop it, then cry again!! It is a not fun cycle!!

I'm sure you'll know Vickie and Jenna, who I work with, but this was our second year going to the Legends to shop! And you got to go with us! Last year on our trip I told them I was pregnant! This year, we had a stroller and you!! :) This is you and Vickie playing! :) You did very good while we were out! You just aren't good about sleeping while we're out because there's so much to see you don't want to sleep - and we need to work on sleeping in the stroller. You're just not that used to it yet. This was your first trip where you had formula too. You did pretty good, I gave you one bottle of it and you seemed to do okay with it.

The next day, Friday, we went with Jenna to look at wedding locations! She is getting married next year! You again, did a good job. Lawrence isn't made very well for strollers so I carried you most of the day. I definetly got my workout! But we had lots of fun! :)

So, that day before we left for Lawrence, I thought I heard a tiny kitty meowin from our trashcan area. When we got home your daddy searched, and sure enough there was a little kitty! It was very cute, and very friendly, but we just couldn't keep it. God answered our prayers though and our neighbor boys took it to join their kittens. So, your daddy named the kitty Oliver, and Oliver was your first pet, you owned him for like 12 hours! I'm not sure if we'll ever have pets. Maybe fish....someday! :)

The other day I called your Mimi and your cousin Bekkah was there. So I talked to her for a little bit on the phone. Here was our conversation:

Bekkah "Hello Jenna"

me "Hello Bekkah, how are you?"

Bekkah "Where baby Ana?"

me "Baby Ana is eating."

Then I hear Bekkah talking to Mimi and then Mimi cracking up.

Mimi "did you hear what she said?"

Me "no"

Mimi "Bekkah said, Baby Ana eating Jenna's Booby!"

Oh, your silly cousin. What are we going to do with her? :)

Well, Little girl, as always you're growing like crazy and I love you very very much!

Weekends with Family

Well, your daddy has been working A LOT at the country club lately. He is an amazing guy to work so hard for our family! :) So, since he's been working he was so kind to let us go visit family the past THREE weekends!! Here are photos to remember your weekends! :)

So, our first trip was to Buhler to Mimi and Papa's house!

You FINALLY got to meet Laura! This was on the day you turned 3 months old! :) It was very cute! :)

It was city wide garage sale day! So, Aunt Jami, Bekkah, Mimi, mommy, and you went out looking for some good deals! :)

Uncle Andrew came home for this weekend! :) He played with you many times down on the floor! :)

I get my shoes!!". LOL - Mimi just meant stand up and walk around the basement - but instead you got to go on a walk around the outside of the house! :)

Now, time for weekend #3! We went to Iola this time!

You are wearing your "I Love My Grandpa" shirt! And you sure do! You love your Grandpa and he loves you so much! :)

So, when we got to Iola we went to eat Mexican with Aunt Melisa and Grandma. We heard you making a mess in your pants...and sure enough!! This is what I found when I got you out of your seat!!!

You were so asleep we wrapped you in a towel and Grandma carried you down like this! Then we let you sleep for a little while before changing you!! :)

Aunt Melisa and Naomi are teaching you all about Coffee! Mommy and daddy don't drink coffee so we will not be teaching you. But Grandma, Aunt Melisa, Cousin Naomi, and Cousin Jessica love coffee and they make all these special coffee drinks so maybe you'll like those some day!

Day one of our garage sale you did wonderful! It was in the evening and you took a nap outside, swung outside, did great! Day two it was WAY hotter and you were not a fan. So here is Great Grandma holding you for a nap inside! :)

Overall it was a great weekend! You enjoyed spending time with your family! You travel pretty well. I learned you travel MUCH better in the afternoon than the evening. You pretty much sleep the entire time if I leave around 3:00ish! :)

You're a perfect little girl! You keep getting bigger and keep getting that personality!! We love you very much!
