Spring Break and Easter

First of all, these pictures are all mixed up and do not go in order....but I don't want to move them around :) So we'll just jump around :)

Easter this year was March 31...it felt very early! We went to Iola to spend Easter with your Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Jessica, Natalia, Gabe, Auntie M, and Uncle G! It was a good Easter and a nice bar-b-que, it felt so nice outside (We're so ready for spring!!)
Easter 2013
Daddy, Eliana, Mommy, and 15 week Baby H :)

You and your pretty dress! :) It was a "Bonnie Baby" dress...I love finding "Bonnie baby" and "Bonnie Jean" dresses in memory of your Great grandma Bonnie Higginbotham. We always get an overwhelming since that she is with us when you wear those dresses : )

Opening your Easter back pack

Easter Egg Hunt - you did so good and you kept saying "egg, egg, egg"

All your eggs!!

Opening the eggs....you didn't realize I was quickly taking all the candy out to hide from you! :) I gave it to you - I just didn't want you eating ALL of it right then!! :)

Your new backpack! You LOVE it! You recently started watching Dora and she has a song about her "backpack" so you sing that song when you wear yours! I am a little sad though, you drug your backpack on the sidewalk last night and it ruined the embroidered "E" on your bag :( but I guess I can only expect so much from a 2 year old, I'll just have to get you a new one when you're a little older.

The boys named you "Super E"

Here you and Natalia are riding a Barbie Jeep over Spring break! You loved it! Notice your face is a little dirty...yeah, you were eating dirt....

Natalia and you at Auntie M and Uncle G's surprise 30th birthday party! :)

Happy Birthday Auntie M and Uncle G!
We threw your Aunt and Uncle a Surprise Party and they were SO surprised!! :) It was perfect!

Back to Easter - On Saturday March 30th the family came to our house to celebrate Easter.
You dyed Easter Eggs for the first time...you loved it! The dye made me nervous though - because you were not the most cautious. However, we used did use kool-aid for some of the dye! I had read where it worked, so we did some with tye typical vinegar dye, and then some with the kool-aid.....the kool-aid eggs were SO vibrant and bright! Next year we will only use kool-aid! But it was a lot of fun!

Back to spring break.....you wanted to ride this scooter so badly! You are very cute!!

Swinging with Natalia!

Happy Birthday!

Over Spring Break you learned Ring Around the Rosie! You loved it! Now you sing "ashes, ashes" all the time. It does come out and sound a little bit like "ah sh*t, ah sh*t".....so I tend to quickly jump in singing wth you when we're around other people :) :)

Over spring break we took a trip to the Iola Library!

Look at all of these books!! You were so excited! :)

Checking out your very first book!

look at all of our Pretty eggs!! :)

Yours and your baby's eggs! We do not know if Baby H is a boy or girl...but we're predicting boy...so we did blue! :) Daddy would like a little boy - but of course we will be happy with a baby boy or baby sister! :)

We had a lot of fun over Spring Break and Easter! HOWEVER, we did have one big thing to take care of. The Monday Spring Break started we went cold turkey - no more pacifier. You did pretty good on Monday only asking a few times for it - we just said you were a big girl and the pacifier went bye-bye. but then Tuesday and Wednesday night were terrible. Once you were asleep it was fine - but getting you to sleep was a 2-3 hour event!!! Once we got back to Iola we tried letting you cry it out in your crib (like we did when we took away the bottle) but you are a little monkey and can now crawl out of your crib...with your mattress as low as it goes and your rail up! So, there is no crying it out - but we do finally have a routine. It took probably 2 weeks, but you are finally down to about a 30ish minute routine before your asleep - sometimes it's a little longer. But we read a book, maybe watch an episode of Mickey and then we rock until you're asleep - you used to put yourself to sleep in bed, but without your pacifier you need us to rock you...so we do! :) You still ask for your pacifier in the car - but other than that your are done with it! And we just have to tell you in the car that it went bye-bye and you're okay with it.
Luckily your daddy was strong, becasue if it had been up to me I would have probably given you back your pacifier pretty quickly! I just didn't have the energy to handle the 3 hour fights before bed....but your daddy really stepped in and took charge!! And I'm so glad he did - because you were successful in being done with the pacifier! :)

We sure did have an eventful spring break and Easter - I'm glad we're back to school and back to a normal routine -- MAINLY because that means Summer is right around the corner!!! :)

Love you baby,
Mommy
