Big Girl Bed!

Dear Sweet Little Gril,
At the end of April we decided to go ahead and get you a twin bed instead of your crib. You were NOT sleeping very well in your crib at all...and you would end up in our bed most nights. So, we thought maybe getting you a big girl bed like mom and dad's maybe you would sleep better! You were SO excited for your new bed!

Once we got your bed rail for you we moved you over to your bed and you are sleeping really well! The first night you were in your new bed you stood up and walked to to the foot of the bed - just like you did in your crib....but you walked right off the edge because there was no crib rail to hang on to!! I felt so bad! But you were okay - thank goodness! We started putting your life size minnie mouse at the foot of your bed to remind you when you're half asleep that you're in your big bed. But you don't need minnie mouse anymore - because you're a big girl bed pro! :)
Now, if you wake up in the middle of the night I just crawl in to bed with you and you're back asleep in about 5 min rather than move you to our bed! It's been so nice - I hope this good sleeping continues! :)
Here's a super adorable picture your Auntie M took of you taking a snack break at Grandma and Grandpa's!! :)

Here are some photos of you taking care of your baby. You're really getting excited about your baby brother- you've been talking about him a lot. And if someone talks about a baby girl - you say - No, baby BBBOOOYYY!! :)
I have a feeling when your baby brother gets here I'll be changing two diapers - baby brother's and your baby doll's! :) I love how excited you are!

Sweet girl, continue to be so sweet and ornery! :) I love you sugar!
Love, Mommy

A Week In Buhler

We had such a marvelous time in Buhler. I'm not sure Elijah and Bekkah knew what to do with us being around for so long....but we all managed! :) Here was our trip in many, many pictures! :)
You kiddos fought over your mimi many times! :) I heard "my mimi" from all of you so many times! :) I hope Mimi's lap can grow...because soon she'll have a fourth on her lap :)

On Tuesday we went to the Sedgwick County Zoo!

You enjoyed looking at all the animals :)

You and Bekkah posing with the Elephant

The "haaappooos" were your favorite! Just like Great Aunt Rhonda

Elijah enjoyed leading all of us many times throughout the day.....here he is standing off with a goose!

You loved getting to spend the day with Uncle Matt - he taught you all about the animals :)

We were at the zoo for about 2 1/2 hours and you did great the entire time! :)

On Wednesday we went to Grandma-Great and Grandpa-Great's house. Bekkah joined us at lunch time.

First we went to the park with Grandma-Great :)

Yummy lunch!

You two goobers in Grandma's flowers..... :)

Wednesday night we went out for pizza and then stopped by the Inman Park. You kids had a blast :)

This picture sums up your on-aagain-off-again friendship  - right now you and Bekkah are pouting because you both want the same side of the slide :)

hehe - we tried to make a train and have you all go down at the same time - it didn't work so well :)

On Thursday we celebrated Uncle Matt's birthday :) :) :)

On Friday we got your hair cut and then we went to pick up Bekkah from daycare. :)

Then we made pudding pops! :) yumm

Rebekkah showed us the finished product...you wouldn't show me your finished product because you were too busy licking the bowl!!!

After nap time we got to eat the pudding pops! You LOVED them...Bekkah wasn't too sure.

After Pudding Pops Rebekkah had to go home and clean her room - but Elijah stuck around and played with us! :)

You both love bubbles :)

On Saturday, after lunch we went down to Mama Lou's Diner (usued to be Joey's Dinere - where I worked growing up) for milkshakes!

You built this tower All By Yourself! :)

Your very first milkshake.....mmmmmmmm.....it's peanut butter and you LOVED it! :)

You and Bekkah were quite cute - you're growing so much you guys can talk back and forth! :) On Friday, when we were coming home from getting Bekkah the two of you were having so many conversations...or Bekkah had to pretend to be "too cool" and ignore you. But, you kept asking her questions and she would answer :) So sweet!

Two other things that happened on Friday was that Bekkah named your baby brother. She named him many different times throughout the week - but on Friday she named him "I Don't Know". So, when her mommy and mimi got home she told them: "Jenna's baby's name is I don't know" and mimi and Jami both responded - you don't know? and Bekkah would say "No! It's I don't know!" :)
Also, it was REALLY hot on Friday - so, you and Bekkah eventually ran around in your diaper and panties - because you guys were so hot - and I pulled my shirt up just a smidge to cool off --- you came over to talk to the baby, so Bekkah came over to see too. She decided the baby was just SO cute! :) Glad she thinks my belly (or as you guys call it the baby) is cute! :) hehe

Then, on Sunday your daddy came to get us - and you were SO SO excited to see him - we pulled up from church and you couldn't wait to get out of the car to give your daddy a hug! It was so sweet!
We had so much fun in Buhler....it's always nice to just spend some relaxing days with mimi, papa, and Aunt Jami's family. :)

Love you sweet little girl!

A letter to my baby BOY

Dear Sweet Baby Boy,
Wow, I can't believe I'm going to have a baby boy. I'm not sure I know how to take care of a baby boy - but everyone tells me that it will be okay :)
So, sweet baby boy, this post is for you and all about the day we found out YOU were in our lives.
On May 13 I had a field trip all day with my kiddos....we went on a tour of Kauffman Stadium. It was a GORGEOUS day...perfect weather! Almost a bit hot by the time I got back to Ottawa!
When we got back to Ottawa your daddy and sister were in the parking lot at Garfield waiting for us.
We took off for the doctor's office.

We arrived on time....and waited.... When we finally went back to have the sonogram we were excited. I was nervous. Your daddy REALLY wanted a baby boy.... Eliana wasn't too sure about mommy being on the table..she wanted to be right there with me. So, daddy moved a chair over so she could sit beside me and hold me hand. We watched you kick and move inside me. At one point Eliana was crying because she wanted to sit with mommy and you kicked SO SO hard! The sonogram tech and I both laughed because you kicked so hard! Like you were telling your sister to be quiet it was your time to be the center of attention :)
So, then the sono tech rolled over your gender....and quickly rolled away....then double checked with us that we wanted to know if you were a boy or girl....I said yes, but I already knew. It was VERY obvious when she rolled over that you were a boy! :) Daddy was SO happy! You were not shy, and you showed up many times that you were indeed a boy! :) The Sono Tech said you were around 13 ounces - which was spot on for what you should be. And you were perfect - I was so relieved....I was so nervous and so happy to hear that everything was perfect.

After the doctor's appointment we went home and we had your sister call all of your family to tell them if you were a boy or girl. We would ask if mommy was having a baby boy or a baby girl....most the time she would respond with "baby girl" - lol - we had to quickly correct her :)
Your sister is very excited to have a baby brother and ready for you to come home with us! She has been practicing taking care of her baby dolls so she's ready for you! :)

Baby boy, I can't wait for you to be here --- I know you're going to add so much to our family! :) Now, if only your daddy and I could agree on a name. He has a name he likes...but I'm not sure I like it....and every name I suggest he vetoes it. So, you may or may not have a name :)
Sweet little boy, keep growing healthily, but let's not grow too big -- just a healthy size - I don't want you coming out a toddler size ;)

I love you sweet baby boy,
Mommy
this was our announcement photo - you can't tell - but Eliana's thought bubble says: "I wish I had a baby brother" :) Can't wait to meet you in September!

Summertime has arrived!

Eliana, we are so lucky....we're already on summer break! :) Most of my friends are still teaching this week! Our summer break has been pretty busy so far....today seems to be the first day without any plans.
Thursday, you were supposed to go to daycare but you woke up with a 103 degree fever! I'm pretty sure it was just teeth - but we didn't want to take any chances. So, your daddy stayed home with you in the morning and I went to work early to finish packing up my room as quickly as I could so I could get back home and daddy could go to work. :) You battled a high fever for a little over 24 hours - then you seemed pretty good on Friday! You could tell your teeth still hurt pretty badly - and you ate like NOTHING for over 48 hours....

On Friday we spent the day going through closets and getting out the winter (hoping the snow is FINALLY DONE :)) and pulling out all the stored summer clothing! :) while I did this you pulled out some clothes and dressed yourself. you're so cute -- granted your pajamas are still on underneath all of this....but you are still adorable :)

Friday night we went to Mr. Carlson's house for an end of the year party - there were lots of kids there and you had a blast. Granted, you tried to run into the road twice!! But other than that you were very well behaved and did a good job playing...most of the time - you do need to work on your sharing with Jett :)
We left the party at around 10:00 and headed to Buhler!!

Saturday was Papa's graduation!
You kiddos wore shirts that said "Proud of my Papa" and boy were you guys :) You and Bekkah kept saying where's papa? Papa's turn? :) It was so cute :)

The three of your waiting....

Papa graduating! So awesome!

You and daddy cheering for Papa in the back of the gym! :)

our entire family! :)

The 3 of you were so proud! :)

Bekkah thought the hats were so cool :) and funny

Sunday at church...a week after Mother's day - but we wanted to still take a pic of all the women :) Grandma Great, Mimi, Mommy, Aunt Jami, Bekkah, you, and Elijah :) I love that picture of you and Grandma Great! The two of you were talking about how were going to visit her on Wednesday and go to the park! :)

Adorable! You kiddos and your Great Grandparents :)

The two of you were so sweet! Holding hands and eating your suckers! :)

Snack time with Uncle Andrew! This was on Sunday - we didn't have power so we were hanging out outside. There were lots of storms around the area - but it wasn't storming in Buhler when the power went out -so we were all confused. But apparently a transformer blew and so just our block was without power....luckily the weather was nice so we were able to spend the time outside :)

Adorable - hanging out :)

We had a marvelous weekend in Buhler....Sadly your daddy headed back to Ottawa because he has to work. I never expected you to know the word "work" so young - but you do - because that's where we always are when we're not with you :(
But daddy was kind and left us in Buhler to spend the week with our family! It's going to be a fabulous week - it will go by fast -- and we will miss daddy terribly. But it's good for us to spend time here with everyone!

Hopefully I can update our blog more often now that it's summer! :)
I love you sweet girl!
