Easton's journey: club feet

OEaston! You graduated!!! :)

We wet to Dr. Jarka on February 12, she looked at your feet and said they were looking perfect and then she sang the little graduation song...and you were free! And then two minutes later she had us put your boots back on.....lol....but that was just to show a new parent ;)

You were so so happy at your appointment! There's not a lot too say...the appointment and everything went so fast!

You hit so many milestones while you had your brace on....you learned to roll over with your brace on, you have not quite figured it out without your brace...but you have been so close!
You learned to sit up with your brace on, which luckily  it only took you a few days after you got your brace off to master it again!

When you lay on the floor you like to kick your feet to listen to your brace hit the floor. Sometimes we worry about Our floor as hard as you hit it sometimes.  But now, without your brace you still kick your feet the same...but it doesn't make the noise ;)
You are so funny....you just finally got control of your feet and legs....there for a while, when we took your brace off you would not have control of your feet because it was like you were lifting weights before, and now you weren't. :)

I asked Dr. Jarka lots of questions.
1. What kind of shoes do we need to get you? Doesn't matter :)
2. Can you jump in the jumperoo? Yep!
3. How many hours do you need to be in your brace? She really wants you to use it at nap time, but with daycare we just didn't feel we could ask such things, plus....you don't really have a set nap time. So, we do 12 hours....7 pm to 7 am....and then on weekends usually you stay in it until around 10 or later in the morning.
4. Should we do stretches with you? She said we did not need to. But, when I read Dr. Dobbs website we do need to do stretches,,,but I guess your feet are flexible enough....
5. I asked about you pointing your toes, because when I try to have you point them you can't. She said it will come,  it right now we are concerned they flex not point :)
6. What is the first sign for relapse? She said we come back in three months and she elect there was norexaskn to be. Concerned about relapse :)

Since February 12, you have done a great job. You love being out of your brace! Thought, I do feel you play less now.... But that might be due to teeth. You don't mind putting them on...infractions, I think you enjoy putting them on because it means  afterwards I'm going to feed you and you're going to get to sleep! So, as long as I put them on you before you get too exhausted, you don't fuss or cry! :)
It's funny....kiddos at daycare, and your sister, and your cousins were all just used to you having items in your feet. Casts or brace. No kiss really ask me questions because they're just used to it...then we went to church and these two girls, who are two weeks older than your sister, just kept asking why you had the brace. They have a new baby brother too and they kept saying their baby didn't need them....I tried to explain why you did to two three year olds....that's hard :)

It's hard to look back at this picture....I think this was your third or fourth cast....I seriously can't believe how quick your treatment has gone. I am beyond thankful that it went so well. Sure, we had some rough nights and sure, it wasn't always perfect. But, you really did so good!im so glad you didn't have to have the surgery, and I'm so thankful that the brace did not give you sores!! Now, we wear this brace until you're four....which hopefully time will slow down!
I love you sweet boy!

Everything Easton: 4 and 5 months

Well, you are nine days away from turning five months...so, we are just going to combine these posts....I kept waiting for your four month check up to update, and that was last week....which you were almost to five months anyways ;) you are getting to be quite the big boy! Just so much older and doing things...you are almost a month from being a half a year old!
I love how you sleep like this with your sweet hands folded by your face :)

At the doctors office you weighed 14.1 pounds, which is the 22nd percentile and 26.5 inches long, the 77 percentile. So, you're long and skinny :) Dr Nichols did suggest maybe starting you on rice cereal to help you gain some weight, which I didn't really want to do...but you have been watching us eat like a hawk. So,I felt bad, since you were showing signs of interest. So, we tried it on February 12 and you loved it! Ate it all...I couldn't feed it to you fast enough :) and then you had a bath ;)

You are not sleeping very well....you do not like to be out down...so you are pretty much sleeping with me all night....and it feels like you eat all night too....Dr. Nichols said you should be able to sleep through the night without eating, so we could let you cry it out...which watch out...because I think I'm ready to sleep train you come spring break. I just can't now, because it will result in less sleep for me which I cannot function with work and two kiddos on less sleep than I'm getting now. That might sound selfish, but really it's for the good of you two kiddos and my students ;)

Look at how cute you are!
You discovered your feet this last month. You would always play with your boots, or grab your bar, and when you were free you would look at your feet very confused.

You rolled over for the first time on January 2nd! You threw your boots in the air and flipped over. You have rolled back to belly many times....but you have not gone belly to back....and you have not rolled over without your brace on...but you were super close the other night.

You can sit up on your own. You're really good at it with your brace on, it helps you stabilize, but you have learned quickly how to continue sitting up even without it! You have such string abs from your brace! You can pretty much use those abs to go from a reclined position to a sitting position!

Your schedule, you wake up for the day about 6:15/6:30 then you eat around 8:30, take a nap around 10, wake around 12:00, eat around 1, nap for a short time sometime in the afternoon...then you eat about 4, nap for thirty minutes around 6, eat around 7, bed around 8, wake around 10 or 11 and eat, then you stay sleeping with me until about 4, and you eat off an on all night.
I really don't think you're hungry....you're just trying to soothe and comfort....which is really frustrating to me. I wish you would take a pacifier! But, like I said, we will be working on your sleeping over spring break!

You are such a happy baby! Mostly smiling! You love your sister! You get mad when we lay you down because you want to sit up and watch her play! She does get loud at times, which startles you but you love her!

You prefer to sit up and watch the action. You prefer to stand or sit so much that I worry about you and  you ability to be mobile. You don't like to lay on the floor and play so I'm worried you won't learn to roll and crawl ;) I'm sure you will...but I do like to lay you down as much as possible :)
You are in three to six month clothing. You do wear some six month clothing. Three month clothing is good on the size...it's just too short.
You just discovered your tongue. You stick it out all day long. And you like to blow spit bubbles and raspberries! It is so cute!

You are so sweet! I love you more than you'll ever know...I excited to watch you continue to grow and learn!
I love you!
