Everything Eliana: 3 years old

Oh my oh my! You are three years old! Can you believe it??
I wasn't sure if I was supposed to schedule you a three year check up...so, I just scheduled it and it's not until May. But we did just go to the doctor on Friday and I do know you weigh 29.5 pounds, whether that's normal or not, I don't know. We think you look tall and skinny. You are wearing 3t shirts, but you must have just had a growth spurt...because your shirts look short on you. They just touch your pants. As for pants, you need 3T in length, but 2T in the waist. It is very frustrating, ;) but I think a lot of kids have this problem.

Wow...hard to believe this picture was just a year ago....it feels like forever ago, yet it also feels like just yesterday :) just for the record....I hated this hair cut. I was so glad when your hair grew back out...and this was the hair cut that made me decide to grow out your bangs... :)

Your vocabulary has exploded this past year. Your memory is amazing. You have memorized so many songs. :)

You like to ask why...all the time. We are trying to answer your questions..but eventually we just have to say, because. :)

Something I love that you do is when you hear something you put your hand at your ear, and you look around all surprised. The you gasp and say, "I hear something!"

I love this photo of you and grandpa great :) Grandpa Great loved you so much! He loved all of his great grandkids and family members. We miss grandpa a lot but we have amazing photos and memories to always help us remember him :)

Your schedule is pretty predictable,

You wake up anytime between 6:45 and 7:30...on school days we have to wake you up by 7:10. Then your daddy helps you get dressed, mommy does your hair, and we head out to Sherry's. You nap from about 1 to 3. Then you have a snack, then we typically take a bath around 7:30 and then we watch a show and head to bed sometime around 8:45 and 9. Mommy or daddy lay with you and sing Jesus Loves You, and we hope that you are asleep by 9:15. :) then hopefully you sleep through the night. Which you do most nights as long as we stick to a schedule. :)

My goodness you are adorable!

Some things that you say don't come out exactly right. For example, you like "poop paste" on your toothbrush instead of toothpaste :)
Instead of French fries you say "a** fries" :)
"Bacuming" instead of vacuuming

You love your Popsicles :)

And you love nice weather and outisde. The other day we had a decent weather day and this conversation happened:
Daddy: Eliana, you want to go outside?
E: YEAH!!!! Mommy, I go outside! No rain! No snow! No hat! No gloves! No jacket!! (As you are jumping up and down)
You clearly were very excited that the nice weather was here! Too bad the high for the next day was in the 30s!

You are a big helper! You love to help me with cooking, with cleaning (sometimes), making Easton happy, and with laundry. You are a big helper.
So, one night when I was putting Easton to bed I heard the buttons on the washing machine being pushed. I figured you would just be starting a load without soap and I would start one later. After I put Easton to bed I went in to the bathroom....it smelled very nice...just like laundry soap...I look in the washer and sure enough there was soap in there...and on the floor. I asked you to show me how you started the laundry...you took the soap off the washer, but it on the floor, heaved it up and over to pour in and then pushed the appropriate buttons. We had a chat about how you have to help mommy, not do it on your own :) but I was thankful for your help...despite the soap on the floor :)

Another one of my favorite photos because you love the rain and the outdoors :)

You went on your first real vacation this past summer to Michigan to visit the Erickaons! :)

You have fears now...this summer you started saying things were too loud. Things that never bothered you before, but now they did. You are very scared of bugs, especially flys. You are scared to go into a dark room, you are scared when people knock on our door (probably my fault...okay, the bugs one is my fault too)

As you know you became a big sister this past year. You are an amazing big sister, we joke that sometimes you love Easton TOO much. You want to hug him and kiss him too tight to where he cries. Here recently, now that Easton is playing and grabbing things you like to take toys from him, or tell him no, but luckily it hasn't been bad yet. You also like to sit with him and make him happy.
You are so proud of "my baby Easton" and you brag and talk about him to everyone :) I am a proud mommy of how awesome a big sister you are!

After Easton was born in September you grew up fast. I don't know if it's because you had a baby brother or if it was because you were 3 1/2 but even our bible study group commented on how much you aged after he was born!

First pony tail, :)

You love to swing.....HIGH!

The other day we went out to eat at Applebee's, and there was a family celebrating their birthdays and they had a big chocolate cake. You said, I want some. And I explained you couldn't have any, it was theirs. You got really sad, laid your head on the table and said, mommy....they not share with me! :)

Oh man, three years is a wonderful age, but it is also a challenging age. You like to push boundaries and see what you can get away with. You still sit in time out many times. One night you sat in time out five times in An hour, all because you wouldn't help me pick up your toys. Finally, when time out wouldn't work Easton and I ate dinner, took a bath, and got ready for bed without talking to you. Finally you went and picked up your toys and then we went about our business again. :) the silent treatment worked that night.....but I'm not sure it will always. As tough as it is some nights, we know that boundaries and love is what you need :) we want you to grow up to be a respectful child and I know you will be.

You are an amazing little girl. The love and caring that you display is amazing! I never knew a three year old could have such compassion! I love your tender heart and sweet compassion!

I look forward to watching you grow and learn as you head to your fourth birthday!
I love you sweet girl!
