Everything Easton: 10 months

Oh boy, you are 10 months old!! Can you believe it!? I seriously can't. I seriously cannot believe I am already planning your FIRST birthday party! It seriously makes me so sad! :( I don't want my sweet baby to grow up! :)
Wow buddy! You have quite the personality. You are showing a lot of stubbornness. For example, when you're eating and we ask you to sign "more" - you can do it, but sometimes you look at us like "I'm not going to do that mom". Or, when you don't get what you want and you throw your head back and cry - it is such a fit! Man, I can't believe what is to come if you're already throwing fits!
You also have the most sweetest smile! I still hear it all the time, how happy and smiley you are!

You now know how to blow kisses! You do such a good job at it! If you hear us say bye to someone you will quickly blow them a kiss. You clap a lot as well.

You are so strong with you legs! We keep thinking you're going to start walking soon...but I keep saying that you're too stubborn. You'll know how to way before you actually do! :) You have taken one step here or there but still not consistent. You really like to walk on your knees...it is so funny - you will just walk normal but on your knees! You cruise everywhere along furniture and you can stand in the middle of the floor unassisted. You started to almost stand up from the middle of the floor without holding on to anything!

We haven't found very many foods that you're not fond of. You don't do a good job with hamburger. But otherwise you pretty much eat everything.
I would write out your schedule with times - but you change it almost daily.....it's always pretty much around the same time but it varies. You do still do some bottles throughout the day and at night. You still want to nurse in the middle of the night but I've pretty much stopped letting you do that. Sometimes you win and I'll give in when we've been fussy ALL night long - but overall we are just doing bottles and regular food.

As for sleep you are still not a good sleeper. I'm not really sure why we have a crib for you to be honest! You might sleep an hour here or an hour there but for the most part you sleep in bed with your momma.

You started a new daycare this month. You are going to Kids Kingdom, which is your first daycare center. You have attached yourself to your head teacher, Becky. As long as she's there you're fine with being dropped off - but when she's not there you are very sad. You're adjusting pretty well. Except you miss your sister a lot - otherwise they seem to think you're doing pretty well.

Except for when you want to give us attitude....you are pretty consistent with signing "more" and "all done". When you have it a little bit more perfected we will start working on please and thank you :)

You are still wearing size 6 and 9 month clothing. 9 month shorts and some 6 month onesies. You are still in size 3 diapers.

You are so close to walking. You have had one step here or there but that's it. You can ALMOST go from sitting to standing - in the middle of the room! But no true walking by yourself yet. LOTS of cruising holding on to things.

You do love your cousin Ellie a lot! You two enjoy spending time together :)

Easton you play peek a boo all the time! You really like to do it when I'm on the computer - you will peek at me from behind it!

**This is your friend Maris Randolph, who lives in California, the two of you share a birthday**

You still are not the biggest fan of your sippy cup - but you're getting there. You do try to drink from our glasses at time - and you REALLY like to drink from Eliana's cup.

You still have NO teeth. You can tell the bottom of your gums are swollen and they could come - but I think they're still waiting to come.

You had your first true fever this past month. You were at 103.5 for three days!! You were so pitiful - just laying in my arms. I took you to the doctor the second day you had the fever - they found nothing wrong with you. After three days your fever finally broke and you had a small rash on your belly. When we went to camp, the lead guy in the band said you had roseola. He has triplets, and said that his girls when through the exact same thing. So there you go, it sounds like that's what you had - good think it only lasted three days!

You currently say: mama, dada, ba (for ball and bottle), and bampa (grandpa)

Easton, you are an amazingly little guy! I love your little gummy smile so much!
I can't wait to see what the next two months bring - and then we're going to celebrate your FIRST birthday!! :)

I love you little man!
Love,
Mommy

Changes and New Routines

I have SO much to blog about! I need to blog about our trip to Florida, Easton's 10 month post, things we did in July! I'm so far behind! Hopefully this weekend I can catch up! For now I'm going to write about the changes in our lives.
You kiddos started your new daycare. Kingdom Kids. We went Friday, August 1, and played for a little over an hour. I talked with both of your teachers and you both had so much fun I felt really good about starting on Monday. So, Monday, August 4, Daddy and Mommy took both of you to Daycare and we dropped you off. Easton you practically jumped out of my arms to get down and play and Eliana you walked in to your room to play without even saying good bye. I'm guessing you both thought it would be like Friday, where we went as a family to play, and we left as a family when we were done. I'm not sure if either of you freaked out when you realized mommy and daddy left or not. But you both got good reports for the day.
Then Tuesday you both did okay - then Wednesday day came you guys decided we were done going to daycare. Easton, you cling to whoever has you and refuse to go to your teacher and Eliana you have started to cry and say that you don't want to go to your new school. I understand, it's different, new schedule, new routine and you guys don't like it. Hopefully you will both adjust really soon though - because it is breaking mommy's heart.

After your first day, when we picked you up we asked if you both had a good day. Eliana, your first response was: "I heard Easton crying, but Ms. Laura said I couldn't go check on him. I so berry sad" You have such a sweet heart. That has been the largest adjustment....that neither of you are doing good with....is that you two are not together. You both wish so badly that you could play together during the day. You both are SO excited to see each other when we pick you up! :)
Your teachers tell us stories about how Easton will crawl up to the baby gate and Eliana will stand in her class doorway across the hall and you guys will play together. Either peek-a-boo, blow kisses, or just say hi. You two are so precious and I hope you continue to want to be together!

I hope you both adjust soon - because mommy is on emotional overload. Mommy had to start at her new school too - and there are so many new things to learn and figure out, along with figuring out a new grade I am on overload there - -and then I'm constantly thinking about you two and how you're doing! But I'm sure in a week or so this will be our new normal and we will have nothing to worry about!

Eliana and Easton, I love you both so much and I'm so glad you love each other like you do! I can't wait to spend the weekend together soon!
Love you,
Mommy
