Everything Easton: 18 months

Well, sweet boy, you are officially 1 1/2 years old!! I can't believe it! You're on the downward slide to two!! EEK! I'm not okay with that. But yet I am. I LOVE seeing you grow and learn!
I am obsessed with taking pictures of you sleeping (as you will see, because in this post alone there are 4 pictures of you sleeping and I have many more). I think I love staring at you while you sleep because you look so peaceful and still resemble my little tiny baby when you're sleeping! I love it!

This is your "Cheeser" Face!! haha - I love it! I think it's funny that you know to say CHEESE when I pull out my cell phone, but when I get out my camera you're not as sure!

You are in size 5 diapers!!
You JUST transitioned to 18 month shirts. You still wear some 12 month. In fact most of your fall/winter clothes were 12 month, but a few are getting snug. You mostly wear 12 month pants, but I did pull out some 18 month pants a while back. You had to wear 12 month for so long because you were too skinny for your 18 month pants. But you're starting to get a little bigger and your 18 month stuff is looking good on you!
You are in size 5 shoes.

Oh my gosh, you have the best little smile EVER! You still only have 6 teeth. It's the craziest thing. The lack of teeth doesn't slow you down though with the eating! :) You pretty much eat most the items we give you. The other day you ate a WHOLE bunch of meatloaf. You don't care for yogurt though. You eat lots of fruit, meat, and bread. You're not the biggest fan of vegetables. I hope you're never as picky as your sister.

You love to rub your belly to fall asleep. You pull your shirt up and just rub a little bit. Up until VERY recently you wanted nothing to do with blankets either. If I covered you up you would get mad. But, all of a sudden you're obsessed with your orange taggie blanket. You're always saying "blankie, blankie, blankie".

You are OBSESSED With balls, especially basketball. Look at this form! I love it! In fact, this particular day you carried that ball EVERYWHERE you went, literally everywhere.

You still love and adore your sister. The two of you are getting a little more ornery towards each other but you just simply love spending time together. You love to play, take each others toys, and fight together!

Easton, you are insanely strong. I'm sure I've said it before, your brace and casts REALLY helped shape your muscles. Here you are hanging from the monkey bars ALL BY YOURSELF! You hung there for a good thirty seconds before dad grabbed you again. It was amazing!

You love to open the cupboards and get things out. If you find the cupboard with the cleaner in it, it's simply a bonus! You make this cute "shh, shh" sound when you're pretending to clean!

You do a pretty good job picking up toys. You still like to throw fits, and with that comes throwing the toys. You started time outs quite a while ago, but I think you're finally catching on to what they mean and what to do. You're starting to sit in your timeout without me forcing you to stay in timeout. You also love to throw away your diaper. After someone changes you, if we have the diaper and look like we're going to throw it away you take it from us!

You say many words. Sometimes I wonder if an outsider would be able to understand you or not. Your daddy, sister, and I can understand you very well. I think you're doing great for 18 months. You say, milk, water, more, eat, please, thank-you (tank do), teeth, toes, shoes, socks, sister, Nana, Mama, dada, Lala (Ellie), and many many more!

You can also identify every body part, head, ears, eyes, mouth, tongue, teeth, fingers, toes, etc.

See why I'm so obsessed with these sleeping baby pictures! You're so precious!

You LOVE to dip your food in sauce!! You're just like mommy! I love to do this too!

Your current schedule is: Up anywhere between 6 and 7. You get a poptart and sit in the bathroom while I get ready. We then get dressed and head to school. You spend your day playing with Tay Tay and all your friends. Then we pick you up between 4:30 and 5:30, come home and immediately have dinner. After dinner we play on the floor of the living room and then if it's shower night we hop in the shower at 6:30. If not we get a sippy cup of milk at 7:30 and then you and I go lay in sister's bed while you fall asleep. Then in the  middle of the night it's unclear how many times you'll wake up. But, you still prefer to sleep in mommy's bed and you wake up many times.

You love balloons too. You call them ballioons. :)

You love your socks and shoes as well! You will run around handing us our shoes in the morning. You know that shoes mean we are going somewhere - so you never throw a fit when we tell you to go get your shoes!! :)

You love your big sister and older cousins too. You love to just run and run and follow them around! The kids play and then there is Easton following and keeping up!

Look at how long your hair is! We have not cut your hair yet. It's about time to get it trimmed - but the sides of your head still don't really have any hair. It has grown in exactly like a Mohawk!! The back of your hair is almost always out of control sticking straight out. The ladies at daycare tell us sometimes that they tried to comb your hair down - and it was just no use!!

This is the morning routine always! If I'm up you are close to follow. You just sit in the bathroom and watch me get ready while you eat your poptart. You're so funny! Sometimes you watch Mickey Mouse on the ipad too!

You're still a pretty rotten sleeper. I tell myself that someday you won't want to snuggle with your mommy and then I'll miss it! But right now you wake up usually around 11:00 and there is no trying to get you to go to sleep so I move you to our bed. You flop around and kick. Some nights you get pretty grumpy at your boots and just kick and cry and kick and cry! You wake up numerous times at night as well. Luckily you have stopped wanting to lay your face directly on top of my face. You would wake up and I would be laying on my side, you would pull on my shoulder or my face and move it to where you could lay your cheek on top of my cheek!! It was cute...but very frustrating at times because it was not comfortable to sleep that way! Luckily you're more content just having me near by now.

We tried to break you of the bottle around January but you were NOT having it!! As soon as I took you to the bedroom you would say, "ba-ba, ba-ba, ba-ba" I knew we waited until closer to 18 months for your sister, so I decided to wait until Spring Break for you as well. Which it was an accident that I broke you of it. We went to Mimi's house for Spring Break and I forgot to pack a bottle. So instead I gave you a small sippy cup of milk while we rocked and then we went to lay down. I still sit with you until you fall asleep - but I'm pretty sure that's the only way you'll be able to fall asleep. But you don't take the bottle anymore. The cup of milk is almost gone by the time we have your boots on.

You're the most handsomest boy I know! I can't wait to watch you grow even more! I have a feeling this summer we will be outside A LOT playing! I love everything you're learning and how you're growing....but maybe we can slow time down just a little bit!!
I love you handsome boy!
Love, Mommy
