Ballerina 5th Birthday!

Happy Birthday Eliana!! You had a great birthday party!! You decided on your own that you wanted a ballerina birthday party! I tried to keep it a little bit more low key this year. I feel sometimes the parties are too stressful and I wanted to just enjoy it, which I think I was successful at!

Instead of trying to do an elaborate ballerina cake I just stuck with some fancy cupcakes! It was perfect! I didn't have to worry about the cake falling apart or doing crazy frosting things -- And the best part was I was done with the cupcakes, frosting and all by 8:00!! Normally I would be frosting a cake until midnight!

Guests starting to arrive! Happy Birthday from Grandma and Grandpa!

We started with a little coloring and glitter on ballerinas!!! :)

Easton was so serious with his coloring! :)

You enjoyed handing out the princess wands to your friends! Mimi and I made this ribbon wands to dance with - and they turned out so cute!!!

Freeze Dance time!! Eliana, you said this was your favorite part of the party!

Most of the kiddos that came to the party! Unfortunately a few of your friends got sick the morning of your party and couldn't come.

I love all these cupcake/candle pictures!

You got shy half way through blowing out your candles and mommy had to finish for you.

Enjoying yummy treats! Mommy kept the food pretty simple this time. We had veggies, cupcakes, and ice cream - that was it.

Grandma-Great was able to come! Even at 90 years old!!

It was a beautiful day and everyone moved outside to play with the bubbles!

Thank you Scotts for coming to the party!! All these K-State gear wasn't exactly needed though! ;) Just kidding!

Jami, Elijah, and Bekkah!

The birthday girls - Eliana and Grandma-Great!

After the party we had a very tired ballerina!

Thank you Mimi for ALL you do for each of our birthday parties!!

Happy Birthday sweet girl, we love you!

A good picture of our family of 5!

A few more pictures of the party and fun things going on!

90th and 5th Birthdays!!

Eliana, you and your Grandma-Great have a birthday one day away!! :) Grandma Great's birthday is February 22nd and yours is February 21st! On your 5th birthday we were celebrating Grandma-Great's birthday with all of our family!
You were SOOO excited for it to be your birthday!! You were even more excited to wear this beautiful dress for church! We were at Mimi's house the night before your birthday. Sunday, the 21st, when we woke up we were all 4 in the same bed (because you know how you and your brother like to be in bed with us) -- So you rolled over and I asked you if you knew what day it was. When you realized it was your birthday you were so happy. The first thing you asked me was if you could go to kindergarten now!! haha

Yours and Grandma's Cake!

Had to include a picture of your brother as well :) He LOVED the catered meatballs that we had. You, Eliana, ate a roll - that was all! haha

Singing Happy Birthday to both of you! You were on cloud nine! And we had a great time sharing fun stories about Grandma-Great and her 90 years of life. Grandma is truly the kindest and nicest lady ever! We love going to her house and having her come over to Mimi's house to play! Eliana, the memory you shared about Grandma-Great was that you "loved how she always gives you M&Ms!"

Some of our favorite things about Grandma-Great:
-We love playing dominoes with her
-Growing up we would play so many games and so many times she would let us win, or help us out!
-Mmmmmm.....her delicious cookies!!! YUM!
-Her homemade strawberry jelly
-Playing spools with Grandma
-Sleepovers at grandma's house
-Her constant love for her family, no matter what

I love this picture!! Mimi at age 60, Grandma-great at age 90, and mommy at almost age 30, with Pickle Sarah in my belly! Adding to our family and adding a generation every 30 years! :)

Happy Birthday to the Best Grandma in the world, I hope I'm doing as well as you when I'm 90!!
Love my February Birthday girls!

Everything Eliana: 5 years!

Holy Cow Lady!! When did you become 5!!?? I think I probably say that every time I do an update but this is crazy!! I will tell you that the year of 4 was SOOOO much better than the year of 3. Don't get me wrong, you still had tantrums, melt downs, etc, but age 3 was insane with all of those things! I feel like 4 slowly got better and better!
You and Jett Campbell hanging out at the Iola-Wellsville basketball game! :)

Eliana this past year you grew and learned SOO much! Let's start with how much you've grown, literally!! All of a sudden your 4T shirts and pants were all too short!! WHAT!? Back in December it was time to upgrade to 5T clothing - and it was crazy! You are so tall and skinny!! Luckily 5T clothes fit you well!
You are finally a better sleeper! Most nights you sleep through the night - it's still not every day - but you're doing much better! You go to sleep around 8:30-9:00 and wake up around 6:45-7:30 --- you would sleep in more, but you have to get up for school! :)

Learning - MAN! You started going to Munchkin Land with Mrs. Megan. You absolutely LOVE Mrs. Megan - and you LOVE learning so much! You got your progress report back from Mrs. Megan and you know almost everything you need to know for kindergarten!! :)

You are such a caring big sister! Most of the time. Sometimes the two of you fight, just like brothers and sisters do!! Some days you fight more than you get along....but overall you guys get along. You truly do love your brother and care for him. If Easton is sad or hurt you are the first one to love and jump up to help him.

Eliana, you are such a girly girl! You love getting your hair curled, doing your make up, getting your nails painted, and dressing up. You love shopping, dresses, new shoes, and anything sparkly!

Here are some new nails that you got from Mrs. Megan for learning your birthday, address, and phone number!!!! :D You also have learned how to write your name Eliana Higginbotham. More often than not you forget one letter or switch two in Higginbotham - but I think that's pretty good for not even being in kindergarten yet!! :)

Eliana, you are such a unique little girl! You love and you're so kind - but yet at the same time you're still trying to figure everything out. You are a leader - but yet you're a follower at the same time. You feed off of what the rest of the kids do. If they make you the leader, you lead - but when a kid is acting up or being mean you tag along with them. We have really been working on the fact that you can have more than one friend, and that if someone is being not nice you can still be nice and include others. You had your first playdate here at our house with a friend that isn't a family friend and I have to say I was not impressed. Example, your friend whispered to you to tell me that I'm a mean mommy. Luckily you knew better than to say that to me - but it made me really disappointed that at 5 you're already with friends like that. :(

But, we will continue to work with you and you will continue to amaze and impress us daily!! My prayer for you for the next year is that you stay true to yourself - and that you continue to love learning and love your family! My prayer for what's going on around you is that you have a kind, understanding, hard working kindergarten teacher. I know you're not always easy, and I know with you coming in with all the knowledge you have you're going to need to stay focused and "entertained" so you don't cause problems. I also pray for the kids you'll encounter and the friends that you'll make. I pray that you find Christian friends and that you get along with your classmates. Sending you out to school is so scary for me and I am already praying for you and those you'll encounter.

I love you sweet girl! Happy Birthday my sweet FIVE year old - I hope it's a fabulous year yet!! :)
