My Goodness Gracious you changed a lot this past month! First of all, I have to confess. I kept saying you were going to turn 8 months on Sunday - the 23rd. Oops! You were born on the 21st! I think having your daddy's bday on the 23rd last month got me confused! :)
Well, this month you had your first doctor's appointment that wasn't a well-baby check-up. You had a deep chest cough and it had Miss Jodi, Aunt Jami, and Mommy worried. So I took you in. Of course you didn't cough at the doctor's office so they just said to give you IBProfin. You had the cough for two weeks and then it went away. So I guess it worked!
When we were at the doctor you weighed 18.6 pounds! So you're for sure growing! They didn't measure how long you were! :)
You woke up on Sunday with a stuffy nose (again!) except this time you actually have snot! I am not a snot person. But it's clear so I guess that's good! :)
Let's see, your eating schedule is as follows: 6:00 a.m. you feed yourself a bottle while you watch mommy get ready in the bathroom. 8:30 a.m. breakfast at Jodi's - two cubes of fruit mixed with cereal. 11:00 a.m. Lunch - three cubes of veggies, two cubes of fruit. 3:15 pm. Snack - sometimes a 4 oz bottle. Most the time puffs and/or mum-mum. 5:15 dinner - 3 cubes veggies, two cubes fruit mixed with cereal. 7:00 p.m. evening snack - 6 oz bottle. Sometimes 9:00 p.m. bedtime bottle. And sometimes 4 oz bottle at about 3:00 a.m.
You like almost everything we feed you! You have had: carrots, squash, sweet potatos, apples, bananas, pears, peaches, blueberries, canteloup, cereal, and oatmeal. You have also had green beans and peas - but you didn't care for them at first, now you like them. Recently you have refused to eat your squash - so I guess we'll put it in the freezer and try it again later. When I say refused - I mean refused to eat at all this weekend. If it was a pureed food you did not eat it!
You have also had cheetos, scrambled eggs, cinnamon apples, Puffs, Mum-Mums, mashed potatos, pancakes, and one small finger tip of can cheese (at Jodi's).
You are still wearing size 6 month and 6-9 month clothing. I actually put you in some 9 month clothing this weekend and it fit you okay.
You are wearing size 3 diapers.
Your sleeping schedule is pretty predictable - up until this weekend. You must not be feeling good (or those teeth are bugging you) you have been up every 1/2 hour recently! But, you typically wake up at 6:00 a.m., take a nap on the way to Garnett from 7-7:30, take a nap around 10:00 for an hour, Sleep from 12:30-3:00 in the afternoon, sometimes you sleep in the car on the way home from 4:00-4:30, take an evening nap for 30-60 minutes sometime between 5:30 and 7:00, and then you're in bed around 8:30. You do typically wake up either at midnight or 3:00 a.m.
You are talking A LOT! You say mama and dada and baba all the time. You really seem to know who your mama and dada are. There have been many times you say it at appropriate times! Otherwise you just talk ALL the time. No matter what you're doing you're talking! You also blow rasperries ALL the time! Everyone loves it! In fact, at daycare one day Rhett blew you a kiss and you immediately responded with a raspberry! It was too cute!
You are also learning your sign language. You can't sign them yet, but you respond when we do. You smile when we sign eat, you focus when we sign "more" while you're eating, and you respond appropriately when we sign "all done". If you're still hungry you cry - if you're done you put your arms out.
Oh yeah, look at you! You are a walking fool! You walk SO good with our hands. You even used your walker the other day to walk a little bit - of course I was close behind in case you fell forward. You are also pulling yourself up on everything. You haven't quite figured out how to get down once you're standing, but you just love standing! You are also crawling all the time. No more army crawling -just flat out crawling like a big girl!
You are a pro at waving Hello and Good bye. You wave at people at Wal-Mart. And if we pass other kids you start to talk to them. If they don't pay attention to you -you just talk louder! Then if they still don't pay attention to you, you look at me like, Mom! Why are they ignoring me? I think you're slightly spoiled at daycare with all that attention! :)
You know your name. You look at us when we say Eliana. You also respond to "no" when we use the appropriate tone. So if you're doing something dangerous and we have a strong tone you immediately stop!
You still love your jumperoo! You also love to jump on our laps. You like to dance when there is music playing too! You love the show "The Sing Off" you will sit and just watch it while they perform. And if it's a really good song you really start to dance!
You went to the park and got to swing for the first time - You loved it!
You have discovered there is more to our house than just where we put your toys. You crawl from room to room to room. I've only "lost" you once. I thought you were playing in the living room and I kept checking on you, and next thing I knew you were in your room playing! :)
You also went to your first show at the Bowlus. You did amazing. It was a 2 hour show and you sat on my lap almost the entire time. You would jump some, and chew on things, you had a bottle, and a mum-mum, but you only cried once when you pinched yourself wih my sunglasses! You did SO good!
You are a fantastic baby Eliana! You don't really cry. You would rather us sit on the floor and play than sit on a couch and work or watch t.v. If we aren't on the floor you pull yourself up to be apart of what we're doing. If we're in the kitchen you crawl and sit right at our feet!
We just love you so much! I can't wait to continue to watch you grow and lean!
We love you little girl!
Mommy!
