Well, Mommy caught the flu bug this morning. You slept through the night last night - but your daddy and I were up taking care of me! Your daddy is such a great husband and daddy! He had a super busy day already, and then to top it off he had to take you down to Garnett (so mommy could stay home and rest), and then he had to go get you after he got off work. Currently you are both at the Lady Braves Basketball game while I rest on the couch, so I thought it was a perfect time to tell you about our Christmas tree! :)
Every year we go with your Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Melisa, Uncle Grant, and Murphy to buy a Christmas tree. This was the 3rd year we went to Memory Lane near Ottawa to get our tree. This year it was pretty chilly, and RAINY! It is the first year that it rained on us, but we still had fun.
Our group, minus Grandma - who was taking the photo, and Grandpa - who had to stay home because he wasn't feeling good.
Our family looking for just th perfect tree!!
(I can't figure out how to turn this photo) Here is our family with THE tree!
Giving you some sugar! :) This was not a planned picture - your daddy and I just can't quit kissing you!! :)
As soon as we found the perfect tree you fell asleep - you decided the hard work was done and it was time to nap! :)
Us with all three trees!
When we got home your daddy and Uncle Grant went to put the tree up and it was TOO tall!! It was like a ten foot tall tree, so your daddy and Uncle Grant had to cut it down! You slep through all the madness, and you weren't even that impressed with the tree! :) Maybe next year you'll be more aware that there is a massive tree in our house! :)
Sunday morning we woke up at our normal time and you and I decorated the tree! You were a little more interested in it, only because I was right beside it, otherwise you wouldn't have cared.
I just love you, you're so excited!
You wanted to help me hang the stockings!
You do think it's very pretty when we walk in after our long day in Garnett and the pretty tree is on!
You REFUSE to sit in front of teh tree to let me take a photo of you! :)
There it is! Our Big, Big Tree! :)
After last year's tree I didn't think we could ever get one bigger, but we did this year! It is taller and wider than last years! This one also is PERFECT! It has no holes (granted, I tied some limbs together to hide a few holes) but it is a gorgeous tree!
I look forward to next year when you understand more and hopefully will get more excited! :) Granted, you have been a great baby and left the tree alone for the most part! :)
Happy Tree Hunting Sweet Baby!
Love you!
Mommy
