Wowzers! It is time for another update on Easton! I haven't updated in a LONG time - but I finally have a laptop again - so hopefully I can keep up on posting now! I did write your 6 month post a while ago -- then when I was just about done the ipad died and I lost the post!!!
Well, Let's start with your stats. We went to the dr for your six month check up when you were about 7 months old....I know, we're off on our appointments. But you were 16.9 pounds (30 percentile) and 27 inches tall (60th percentile). You do not seem tiny - but I guess you're on the smaller side!
Oh you precious kiddos! Eliana was trying hard to keep you guys happy :)
You are moving ALL over the place! You crawled for the first time on March 30th. It was just two little movements and then you fell flat. Your daddy explained your first crawling really good - he said - you crawl, crawl, fall, crawl, crawl, fall. You were SOOOO SLOW at first! But it didn't take you long and then you were everywhere! Two weeks after your first crawling motions I remember thinking on a Friday how you hadn't figured out there were more rooms in our house- then by that Sunday you crawled from the bathroom to the kitchen! There's absolutely no stopping you now!
You started pulling yourself up just about a week ago - so almost 8 months old. You haven't quite figured out how to move your feet to do the walking motion along things - but we have seen you just start to figure it out! EEK!
You are such a happy boy! You have the best gummy smile!! Still no teeth!
You have still only had breastmilk. Well, you had your first formula bottle the other day. You will have formula this next week because I stopped pumping the last week of school - and I had just enough milk stored up to get you through to May 20th. Next week I have to work again so you'll have six ounce bottles while I'm gone.
You are still not a good sleeper! You pretty much have to sleep in my arms in order to get good rest! You go to bed around 8:30 or 9:00 now. Back when you were six months old you were going to sleep at 7:30. Now, I lay you down around 9:00 and you sleep until about 11 and then you're up and wanting to lay with me in bed. You sleep the rest of the night with me. Now that it's summer I'm going to have to try to sleep train you and make you cry it out.....But I really don't want to!
You are wearing size 3 diapers.
You can still wear some 3-6 month onesies - the pants fit your waist but are not long enough. So, you are for sure in mostly 9 month pants for length. You're mostly wearing 6 month clothing.
You still like to ball up as much as possible!
You love your sister and smile SO big when she walks in! You love other kids too!
Right at around 6 months you started putting your hands up for us to pick you up!
You love eating! You have had tons of different food. I have made you sweet potatoes, mixed veggies, green beans, peas, squash, zuchinni, bananas, pears, peaches, apples, blueberries - and it goes on! You don't really like blueberries by itself and you don't like pears by itself - but mixed you love it! Your daddy calls it pearberries! :) You also LOVE to eat mommy's food. You ate some of my toast with butter on it - you just sucked on it until it dissolved. So, since you ate that you think you can eat all of my food - but you can't. You have not figured out how to chew -- you just push everything back with your tongue. So, the other night you were tasting my hamburger and you got a small chunk off and you could not eat it. Luckily, I have found out you have good gag reflux...which helped with the hamburger.
You like to put EVERYTHING in your mouth! For example, leavees! You love to eat leaves! The other night you had one in your mouth, and I thought I got it out -but there was a little bit left in your mouth - which you ended up choking on until you threw up. So we have to watch you very closely!
Your schedule isn't completely predictable yet. I wish it was. You wake up anytime between 6:15 and 7:15 - if you wake up early you will play on the bathroom floor while I get ready. Then we head to Sherry's about 7:25. You eat about 4 ounces at 9:00. You might take a nape in the morning - usually around 45 minutes sometime between 10 and 12. You typically eat 4 veggie cubes and 3 fruit cubes (cubes are ice cube sized - because that's how I freeze your baby food that I make) around 11:30. Then, You might nap again sometime between 12 and 3 - hopefully an hour - sometimes you don't nap at all. Then you eat again at 4:30 when I pick you up. You eat veggies and fruit again at 6:30, then you nurse again at 7:30 and go to bed. Waking up around 11 and eating various times throughout the night.
We try to put your brace on you around 7:00 every night - before you get too tired. We went for your 3 month brace follow up on May 19. Dr. Jarka said you are the poster child for Club Feet! You are rocking it! She said you look perfect and she has no reason to think you will relapse!
The brace hasn't stopped you at all - you are able to crawl with the brace on and get around fine. The only problem is you can't go from the crawling position to the sitting position with the brace on. You also tend to sit in the "W" sit because of your brace - but the doctors don't seem to be concerned about that.
You JUST started waving. You are so adorable when you do it - you do your entire arm! :)
You also raise your arms up high when we say "How Big is Easton?" :)
You are SUCH a Momma's Boy! I don't mind most the time. You practically jump out of other people's arms to get to me! After work in the evenings you are fine playing on the floor as long as I'm sitting on the floor too. If I'm trying to get things done you're not happy.
Ha! I just reread your sister's 8 month post and I wrote on there that I kept saying your sister was going to turn 8 months old on the 23rd.....which is funny - because for a week I have been saying you were going to turn 8 months on the 21st. Your daddy has made fun of me for forgetting your birthday date! :)
In the past few months we have taken you to the doctor twice for what we thought was an ear infection - but you have always checked out fine and healthy! :) But you have had a runny nose for like forever! I think your nose has been runny more than not! It's very frustrating - you have another runny nose right now!
Look at you!! I don't think you would have figured out stairs quite this fast - except that's where your sister would retreat to get away from you. But you have only figured out how to go to the first step! :)
By far your absolute favorite outfit is just your diaper! You HATE getting dressed. And you're starting to really dislike getting your diaper changed!
I love this picture! :)
You are not really talking yet. You have made the "dada" sound and you have made the "mama" sound - but it wasn't directed at us and it hasn't been consistent. You do like to scream though! Man do you have a high pitched scream!! I am trying to teach you the sign language like I did your sister. You seem to be responding well to it. I have shown you "eat', "more", and "all done". We'll see when you pick it up!
You are quite the adorable baby!
We switched your carseat from the infant seat to the convertible seat in April. You are SO much happier! You still might fuss when I first put you in it - but you do better. I'm not sure why you like it so much better, but you do. You CRIED AND CRIED in your infant seat - and now you only cry about 20 percent of the time! Hopefully this will help for the Florida trip! :)
This was a morning when you woke up really early and this is how I found you and your daddy sleeping on the floor of the living room!
Oh, Easton! I just love this stage you're in! So many people have commented on what a happy and good baby you are! And you are! We are very blessed!! I can't wait to watch you continue to grow and learn!
I love you sweet baby boy!
Mommy
