Eliana - you are too funny! At three years old you say some of the funniest things - and I wish I would remember them all! But I don't...and I can only remember a few things but I'll write them - along with a little bit about what's going on with you lately! :)
First of all - you are SO dramatic. I mean this in a good and bad way. You are very dramatic in the theatrical sense...which makes sense with your daddy being in theater...you definitely got those genetics. If there is a stage you are up there performing - if there is not a stage you will create one! And before you perform anything you put your fist to your mouth and clear your throat - it is adorable! :)I also need to say you are dramatic in the sense of fit throwing! HOLY COW! You should be a phenomenal actress some day with all the fit throwing practice you are getting. You would think your whole world is coming to an end if you do time out - or I ask you to pick up. Or a fly lands on your arm!! :)
See the fear in Easton's eyes? And see the love from your smile!!? Yeah, this is our current struggle at our house. We are constantly saying - "leave your brother alone", "don't squeeze your brother so tight", "Do you hear him crying? That means he doesn't like it when you lay on top of him", "Please don't block your brother from crawling", "Eliana, don't take toys from your brother".
Oh my goodness! It's constant. The good news is - when you hug him/squeeze him too tight it typically is because you just love him so much!! But the taking toys and jumping in front of him when he's trying to crawl...that's just being annoying (and I think you got that trait from me...because I was quite the annoying sibling growing up - don't tell your Aunt Jami or Uncle Andrew that I admitted to that though :) ).Hopefully someday soon you will grow out of this!! :)
Oh yes, back to your performance....you love to sing and play music. And you are quite good at singing too!
Dress up is a huge thing in our house right now too!
Here's a story of what you said the other day:
We were playing "I Spy" in the car
Mommy: I spy with my little eye...something...wiggly
Eliana: Mommy's Bottom!!!!
You were so excited with your answer...I was referring to Easton -but we had a good laugh. Not sure I like that you think of my bottom as wiggly - but I have been working out! :)
The other day you had a cup in the back seat of the car. You always want us to take lids off your cups. Daddy said no, because we were in the car and didn't want to make a mess....
Then we heard you taking big gulps. Daddy spun around and looked at you because he thought you had taken the lid off.Your eyes got really big, cup still at your face, then you said "I not take the lid off"
You were slurping through the straw hole - you had removed the straw.
You are too smart to get around that one! :)
The other morning your daddy and I were sleeping (and in case I didn't mention it before, our bed is in the living room, now that we are in a one bedroom). So our bed is RIGHT by the door that goes outside. Well, I was sleeping and I heard a door close. I thought that was weird - but I figured it came from the garage, and your grandpa was there to get something. So I fell back asleep. About 30 or more minutes later - the door flies open and in you walk, exclaiming "Mommy! Daddy! I play with BUNNIES!" You were so proud of yourself!
I sat straight up, and was confused and dazed - and I was speaking inchoherent mumble jumble - your daddy just laid there knowing nothing! :) I asked your daddy if he had taken you out there to play with your grandpa and he said - no, I just woke up!! So I got up and had you go show me where these bunnies were - sure enough there were bunnies in our yard! I don't know what possessed you to go outside when you woke up! You normally come straight to us and wake us up! Crazy girl! We WILL be locking our doors from now on!! :)
And we will end with talking more about your fits! :) When you have to go to time-out, which is usually because you take a toy from Easton, or stand in his way so he can't crawl somewhere, or lay on him, or grab him (you really do love him - but man do you pester him!) :) You SCREAM!! And SCREAM! We ignore you - then you decide you're done. And you say "mommy, I'm done throwing my fit". And we say, good, now sit there in silence. :) I don't even know why you even bother with throwing your fit! :)

Here lately you have been so dramatic. For example, you hurt your foot and you were demanding a band-aid. But our new rule is you only get a band-aid when you're bleeding....so you were crying, and flailing, and getting all worked up - and then literally in the next breath you said "Can I watch a show" - in a complete normal voice, calm and everything! I was like, "Oh child!!" :)
One of my favorite things is when you say "I'm a good listener!" Normally it is when you're a good listener - and you're so proud because you know it makes us so happy when you are a good listener! :)
Sweet Eliana - I love every little ounce of you! (Speaking of little -you TOTALLY wore your brothers 9 month shorts the other day - your daddy didn't know they were your Brother's until he put them on you!) You may make me want to pull my hair out at times - and I may tell people never to have a 3 year old.... BUT I do remind myself (and your daddy) that this is the way you learn...by pushing the boundaries! And the most important thing is I cling to all the WONDERFUL times we have together. The times we paint, the times we play, the times you run up and give me a hug and a kiss! You truly are a sweet and amazing little girl!
I love you,
Mommy
