Everything Easton: 12 months....ONE YEAR

Well, it happened again. I had a 2nd baby, and this baby too became a year old, despite me wanting you to stay a baby! I don't know what happened :) Easton, you are quite the silly boy. I haven't updated since your 10 month post, so I have two months to catch up on! :)

You learned to walk right before you turned 11 months! On August 18! We were so proud! You were so proud too! It was so weird you just took off one day. It still took us by surprise many times, we would turn around and there you were walking :) You definitely prefer to walk over crawl now. I like to watch you get up, you just push up off the floor and stand - it's quite cute! I also like the way your diaper makes a swishing sound when you walk!!

We just switched you to size four diapers.
You can still wear size 9 month clothing, but I'm starting to switch you to size 12 month. Size 9 month pants are too short, so 12 month fits better.

At the beginning of August you were sleeping terrible. You would wake up multiple times during the night and just CRY....we thought it might be your new brace (I'll write about that in your clubfoot update).
Then you actually started sleeping better! You started sleeping from 8:30 to 2:30! Then you move to my bed and sleep until 6:30! It was AWESOME! I have always told your daddy, it doesn't bother me that you sleep with us as long as you SLEEP. When you don't sleep, then I can't sleep. Of course the past week you have not been sleeping as well. And you started to go back to the crying for no reason in the night. Hopefully you go back to sleeping better soon.

Since starting daycare we have a more strict schedule.
7:00 - wake up, get dressed, grab a graham cracker :)
7:20 - head to daycare
8:00 - breakfast
11:00 - lunch
11:30-2:30 - nap
2:30- snack
4:30 - pick up from daycare
5:30 - dinner
7:30 - get read for bed, shower
8:00 - bottle
8:30 - bed

TRICKS:
You do so many things. You can wave, blow kisses, clap (and you're so proud when you do clap), you can shake your head no but you don't do it very often. You can sign "more" and "all done" but you're pretty stubborn at times and don't always do it. You drink from a sippy cup. You can ALMOST feed yourself with a spoon. And you point at EVERYTHING!
Words: mama, dada, ba (ball), baba (bottle), sissy, bampa (grandpa), I know there's more and now I can't think of them!! :)

Since your birthday you now have BOY toys!! No more playing with minnie mouse and make up and hair brushes! (You can play with all those that's fine - but I thought you would like boy toys as well!) You LOVE your new truck that makes music, and you drag your fire truck EVERYWHERE! Of course you love all the toys with balls as well. And your Aunt Jami got you a ride on Airplane that you LOVE!!

You eat everything. I haven't found anything that you don't like yet! :)

You have TWO TEETH!! They popped up literally two days before your birthday! You POOPED SO MUCH while working on those teeth!! And your poor bottom has had a rough rash for quite a while.

You have also had a couple fevers. You poor thing have been more sick than your sister was at this age. Granted, your sister had ear infections and you haven't. But you have had a couple of times where you have ran a fever over 102 for a couple of days. You had another bout of a high fever just before your birthday again.

Could you be any cute!?

You discovered books in the last two months! And you love them! You toddle back to your books and pull them off the shelf and bring them to us to read! It is so cute!

You learned to walk with your shoes on! Daycare wanted you to start wearing shoes before you moved to your new room so we started to put them on you and you are doing great!

You're starting to understand and learn what we mean when we talk. You've known for awhile the phrase "where's sissy?". But the other night I asked you to take something to daddy and you did. :)

I don't know your percentiles. I need to schedule your one year check up and your one year shots. But, we need to get a new doctor that's here in Iola and I don't want to switch doctors or try to find one we like as much as Dr. Nichols....but I better do it soon...I already missed your 9 month check up when we first moved here....

You still love your sissy lots. But you guys do "fight" a little. You like to be right next to her, and she likes to be ornery and take toys from you.

You are still the master fit thrower. You have started to hit your head on things too. But you totally flop out and lay flat on the floor when you throw your fit.

And you're accident prone. Notice the bruise on your forehead? Well, that's your second time hitting that spot on your head. First time was on our bed frame, second was on the t.v. stand, and now you have a sore on your chin because you face planted in the rocks!! But none of those sores slow you down - you are still climbing on things, falling off of things, and being all boy!!

Sweet baby boy, I love you so much! Thank you for being such a wonderful sweet baby boy that loves to snuggle!! I love the snuggles all the time!
I love you,
Mommy
