Easton's journey: club foot

Well, mr. Easton, despite missing our turn off, and having to turn around multiple times on the way to children's mercy...we made it to your second appointment! Okay, it was mommy's fault we had to turn around...oops ;)

Your appointment went well! Your daddy and I decided we like the 8:40 appointment time better than the 10:00 ....it was crazy at 10.  But it was okay.

They started by taking your casts off. They peeled the blue off, then they used a vibrating saw (that's what your daddy called it...) to cut off your white cast. You did so good! You seemed to enjoy the loud saw!

You were so happy to have your freedom! I picked you up, and you were so light without your casts! And then I placed you up on my shoulder and you curled your legs up under yourself, into yourl little ball...I was so happy to have my baby back :)

Here are your feet after week one of casting! Looking very good! Your left foot still curled more than your right.

Kicking and bending your legs...enjoying the freedom!

Week one feet

Then it was time to take your freedom away again....they put on your news casts, for the first cast you fell asleep,,,for the second you woke up, not happy. So, we gave you a bottle and then you were good.

The appointment went well and you did awesome! Wednesaday evening wasn't too bad...then, Wednesday night I think I was awake more than I slept! You just couldn't get comfortable. In fact, since your new casts you haven't slept in your swing...so I'm not sure if it's the positioning of your feet or what. So, Thursday we were pretty tired...but then thursday night, you slept great! So, they must not have been bothering you too much Thursday night.

Now we just wait until next Wednesday. It is already, technically,  Sunday morning...so this week is going s lot faster than last week. I felt like week one of casts lasted about three weeks!!  Probably the unknown and the worrying...your daddy likes to worry s out you a lot. He's constantly checking on you when you sleep to see if you are breathing, and he is constantly worried about your toes and if they are the right color or not.

One more thing, when you get your casts we dip your pacifier in sugared water....ever since you are not the biggest fan of the pacifier....so, I think you'll still end up being a paci kid, but boy do you get uoset at home when it doesn't have that sugar water on the tip of it!

Alright, Mister....mommy is so proud of you and how well you're handling treatments! Keep it up! And maybe next Wednesday we can sleep ;)

Love you,
Mommy
