Around the House

Some of my favorite times are when we get to hang out around the house. The weekends of hanging out in our pajamas and enjoying each other. Here are a few of our favorite things! :)
I wouldn't say laundry is a favorite thing...but it does consume my days! :) Easton, you love helping. You enjoy pulling all of the clothes out of the dryer....mostly so you can then climb in to the dryer yourself. :) haha....it is so cute - but I actually haven't let you climb all the way in - because it's usually after it has been running and it's really hot in the dryer! You also love to be carried in the laundry basket and go for rides down the hallway!

Oh, this face....You do it even better and you make this face when you're thinking "Uh....mom, really!?" haha. We seriously love and laugh at this funny face you do!  This is also one of your favorite places in the morning...and really anytime. You love to sit in the sink while I get ready in the mornings.

Allen County Community College did a performance of Shrek the Musical at daddy's work. So we went by for some of the rehearsals. You were SO excited to see Princess Fiona! But then when we took your picture you were so scared.... You're so funny. You have done the same thing every year with Santa - you get so excited when you see him but then when you get close you get scared.

Easton, it looks like you fell asleep here...but you didn't. This is you throwing a fit. You are the best fit thrower. Over everything small or big! You have figured out a hard floor vs. a soft floor. When you start to throw your fit you run/flail your body in the air until you hit carpet and then you just plop down on the floor! It's semi-cute, semi-frustrating. But, I am very worried about when you are two or older and you start REALLY throwing fits....
Other good times is the love between the two of you. Sweet love....most of the time.... There are many times that Eliana takes toys from Easton or sits on him. And there are many times that Easton has sat in time out for hitting his sister. But the other 50% of the time there is genuine love. Eliana says all the time "Aw, brother, you are my best friend". So precious. Eliana, you are a great big sister most of the time. Here lately in the morning Easton has been wanting your poptart. Every time he asks you give him a piece....you are so nice to share with him. You help teach him to sign, and you help teach him to love.

Eliana, you are doing a better job at dance class. Listening better and you're really enjoying it. You guys are working on a Christmas dance right now.

Practicing your ballet moves at home. You and daddy working on each position! So precious. We have many dance parties in this house!`

Oh, precious Easton, your fits are just so precious. This fit was because daddy and Eliana went outside and you didn't get to go with them. Your sad face is just too sad... :(

But a few mommy snuggles afterwards help to make you all better!! :)

We had our precious Bowlus Friends came over a few weeks ago to take some pictures of all the Bowlus Babies.
Piper, Miles, and Eliana were the original Bowlus babies (when I say Bowlus babies - all of your parents worked together at the Bowlus for many years. And it's so funny that we all have had babies at the same time)

We have finally adjusted to life in Iola....I think....and I hope.... Eliana, you are doing much better at daycare/preschool. We go off of no news is good news with you. They stopped doing your behavior notes - which (as a teacher) tells me that you must be doing much better. Because, if you weren't they would still feel the need to talk to us. We have done  alot of talking about what you should do in certain situations. For example, if a friend takes your toy, what should you do? I knew as parents I would have to teach you this - but I though modeling good behavior would be okay...I didn't realize how much actually teaching and talking about behavior we would have to do. But I think it's working (knock on wood). Daycare's main concern is that you don't eat anything.....we're ready for you to quit being picky!!! :)
As far as preschool goes - I'm amazed at how much you have learned! You know so many letters, and you can write your name! You can draw a stick person! You're not a huge fan of coloring, but you do love learning!

Easton, you just moved up to the one year old room. This was a bit of a rough transition for just a little bit. But you are doing great now. And you love your new teacher Miss Vinetta.

As for me, I can't say I love my new job. But I do love being closer to daddy's work. I miss Garfield Elementary in Ottawa....a Lot. But we're making it. I'm adjusting, and finally adjusting and not feeling as overwhelmed with my job. I like how when daddy gets off work at 4, he is able to get you kiddos from daycare and then he's home with us until 6. It really does help. Or if daddy has the day off he's able to do things around the house and get some of our to-dos done. So, all in all, it really is better that we moved down here.

Is this not the most precious and adorable picture of this beautiful baby EVER? :)

Now, we're gearing up for the holiday season! I'm counting down the days to our Thanksgiving and Christmas break, so we can spend lots of time together!

Love you babies!
Mommy
