Easton's journey: club foot

You are so handsome little boy! We went to the doctor last week for a six week brace update. You are doing so good! Dr. Jarka said you are a rock star! :) she did say you should be the kind of rock star that does not trash the hotel room... :) 

She checked the flexibility of your foot and said you were doing good. I asked about your foot not being flat in the boot and she said that we were doing good. She said your foot won't go flat against the back of the boot because the boot curves. So, anyways it's good to know you're doing well....there is so much pressure to not mess up your treatment! :) 

I have to admit, I messed up. I put your brace on last Monday and I didn't notice your foot was on top of the brace part...and of course we were busy so I didn't take your brace off until Wednesday at the dr. (You don't get free time every day). And your foot was really red. Dr. Jarka asked if it was normal to be so red...so I had to admit to her it was my fault. I'm so lucky it didn't really hurt you. You had a mark for a few days...but you didn't move your foot when we touched it, and luckily it didn't break the skin! Needless to say, I am super careful now!

I've started a list or questions for your next visit...like what to watch for and things. I'm excited for February 12 so that you don't have to wear your brace all day....but I'm also very nervous! I'm mostly nervous that you're going to hate putting it on at night!

You are really adjusted to the brace though. You kick your legs, raise your brace up, and you've even stopped crying when I put it on!  It makes it so much better when you're not crying when I put it on...mainly because my heart doesn't break as much! :)

I just love this picture of you! And I have to say....you are just constantly talking now! I LOVE it!

And even though this picture has nothing to do with your treatment I just love it! You, your sister, and your baby cousin, Ellie!

Little boy, we are very blessed to have you...and I praise God daily that 1. There is treatment, and 2. You're responding so well!
